Hi there, I’m Nicole Tourangeau—a registered social worker through the BCCSW. I’ve been working in the field of mental health in various capacities for the past ten years and have been providing counselling services and clinical supervision since graduating with my masters in social work in 2017. I work with a wide range of ages from childhood to adulthood with my focus on a variety of challenges that people face including: trauma, depression, anxiety, suicidal ideation, grief and loss, family relationships, burnout/return to work, etc.
As an Indigenous mental health professional, I provide culturally appropriate services to Indigenous and non-indigenous people alike. I also practice from a person-centred/trauma informed lens and believe in the importance of walking alongside people in their journey to wellness.
In my toolbox of therapeutic techniques, I draw upon Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing, and Indigenous-Focused Orientating Therapy, Emotions Focused Therapy, as well as suicide risk and prevention. I recognize that each person has unique and individual needs which is why I take an individualized approach using the treatment modalities listed above. I am committed to meeting you where you are at, providing safety, and ensuring your comfort along the way.
I currently offer in person and virtual 50-minute counselling sessions designed to help you navigate life’s challenges from the comfort of your own space. This means that you can prioritize your mental health needs without the added stress of commuting or scheduling conflicts.
I would be happy to connect with you to learn more about what kind of services you are looking for and how I can best help you! Please reach out anytime.
